"The yeast and my face - old and well balanced relationship."

While they are present in the kitchen and wine cellar, Yeast also have their place in your beauty routine.

What Are Yeast?

Yeast are basically fungi, rich in amino acids, proteins, B-complex vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, folic acid, biotin), chromium and selenium. Yeast is also a great source of beta-glucan which is a good antioxidant. Thanks to its skin conditioning and antioxidant properties, it offers many benefits for your skin, like stimulating wound healing and moisturizing. Yeast proteins are believed to increase the production of collagen. They can help to slow the aging process of the skin.

These homemade face masks help to boost your natural collagen production and heal your acne-prone skin. Not to mention that they are really easy to make. There are many Yeast masks recipes, choose the ones that are perfect for your skin type.

Remember that yeast is particularly good for oily skin and for skin inflammation.

Yeast for Shiny Hair

Yeast Hair Mask

Mix 2 tablespoons of yeast with 4 tablespoons of warm milk, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of Argan oil. (This amount is enough for my shoulder length, thin hair.) Apply this mixture on your scalp and hair, cover it with a plastic shower cap and wrap it around with a warm towel. Keep it on your hair at least 2-3 hours then wash it off. After the first use you can enjoy the result: hair becomes shiny, thick and voluminous.

Note, that always make any mask with fresh ingredients. Yeast should be alive, so your skin will get the maximum benefit.

Always use unrefined, organic, fair trade products. Take care of your health and our environment. Always take allergy test – if you have reaction avoid these ingredients.

Love, Auntie
