Baths have been such a significant part of human history. Every culture has its own bathing tradition: Scandinavian sauna, Roman baths, Turkish hammam, just to mention a few. A proper bath may kill bacteria, remove toxins and promote blood circulation. It improves your immune system to help fight infections and colds.

Beyond its medicinal qualities there’s something luxurious about taking baths. This is definitely my favourite way to relax and quiet my mind.

When it comes to pampering myself at home, it always includes a gorgeous bath. Taking bath has beneficial effects on the body and soul. Natural bath add-ins smell nice and feel lovely on my skin without chemical additives. And those scents! Scents are really important in creating a relaxing environment. I love adding fragrance through essential oils or candles. Or even flowers like rose or lavender. It is such an easy way to create a beautiful aroma and relaxing mood.

Many people don’t know the secret: if you want a relaxing beauty-bath, first you need to take a shower. It cleanse your body from all visible and invisible impurities. While you are under the shower, also use body scrub to get rid of dead skin cells.
Now, as you are ready, you can start your beauty-bath process.

Well, it is an amazing pampering routine. And there you have it, my top 10 bath essentials to make you feel rejuvenated and beautiful. If you just jump in and out of the shower, consider it as a prescription for relaxation and getting a bit of time for yourself.

Rule number one: make sure, that all conditions are perfect: your bathroom is clean and warm and no one is bothering you. Turn off your cellphone!

Make a cup of herbal tea and enjoy while you soak.

Set out your comfy bathrobe or towel.

Fill your tub with water and make sure that the temperature of the water is perfect -not too cold and not too hot.

Bath oil, bath salt, bath bombs and bubble or foaming bath. You can add one of these to the water, depending on your skin type and current mood, but use natural ingredients. If you are struggling with pain in your muscles, Epsom salt is your friend. Soaking in the salt is both therapeutic and feels luxurious, all in your own home!

Add essential oils to the water, to make your own aromatherapy bath. Oh, and don’t forget about milk and honey! You may have heard of Cleopatra who was being soaked in milk and honey, haven’t you? The exfoliating effect of lactic acid in milk combined with the softening and moisturizing properties of honey. That was her secret on getting soft supple skin.

Add rose petals for taking your bath to the next level. Natural oils found in roses help retain moisture in the skin and makes you feel so girly and fabulous.

Relaxing music and candles. Well, they are the basic ingredients of a home-spa, but it is all according to your taste. If you would like to relax without music and candle, skip them, but ensure cozy lighting!

After a hot bath, always apply a proper body butter that will leave your skin moisturized.
